  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture and buttermilk alternately into the creamed mixture, ending with the flour mixture. Gently fold in mashed bananas.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For frosting, beat together softened cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla until creamy.
  7. Once cooled, frost the cake evenly.
