  • 150 g large tortilla chips (about ½ large bag)
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped and cooked until crisp
  • ½ lb ground beef
  • ½ small onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ⅛ cup + ⅓ cup barbecue sauce
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Green onion, lettuce, and tomato for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium pan, cook ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess grease, then stir in ⅛ cup barbecue sauce.
  3. Prepare additional barbecue sauce in a sandwich bag for drizzling.
  4. On a baking sheet, layer tortilla chips followed by half of the cheese, beef mixture, and bacon. Drizzle half of the barbecue sauce.
  5. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  7. Garnish with green onions or other toppings as desired and serve immediately.
