  • 3 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine (or dry sherry)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper
  • Vegetables: onion and bell peppers
  • Ginger and garlic for flavor

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine, and cornstarch for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the marinated chicken until browned but slightly pink inside, then set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté ginger and garlic until fragrant, add onions and bell peppers, cooking briefly.
  5. Stir in the prepared sauce, let it thicken, then combine with the chicken back in the skillet.
  6. Serve immediately hot over rice or noodles.
