  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • 12 small corn tortillas
  • ½ cup diced white onion (or red onion for a stronger flavor)
  • ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges, for serving
  • Crumbled cotija cheese (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak in olive oil, lime juice, cilantro, garlic, cumin, chili powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt for at least 2 hours (up to overnight).
  2. Preheat a cast-iron skillet over high heat.
  3. Cook the marinated steak for 3-5 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
  4. Rest the steak for 5-10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  5. Warm the tortillas in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
