Description

Chicken Fried Chicken is the ultimate comfort food that combines crispy, flavorful chicken with a luscious gravy, making it perfect for any family meal.


Ingredients

  • 68 thin sliced chicken breasts
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbs hot sauce
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup reserved oil from frying
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pan to 325°F.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, and hot sauce until smooth.
  4. Dredge chicken in flour mixture, dip in egg mixture, then coat with flour again.
  5. Fry chicken for 3-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  6. For gravy, heat reserved frying oil in a pan; stir in flour and cook for 1 minute before adding milk until thickened.
