- 4 cups (500g) bread flour or all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons (7g) active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons (10g) salt
- 1 3/4 cups (415ml) warm water
- 1/4 cup (60ml) extra virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary leaves
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour and salt to the mixture; stir until combined.
- Drizzle in olive oil and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the risen dough gently and transfer it to a greased baking sheet.
- Stretch the dough to fit the pan shape and let rise again for another 30 minutes.
- Create dimples on the surface with your fingers; drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle coarse sea salt and rosemary on top.
