Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Mix sugar and cinnamon for the topping while muffins bake.
  8. Dip warm muffins in melted butter followed by the cinnamon-sugar mixture once out of the oven.
