  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup beef broth (or water)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as necessary. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the beef mixture on the bottom followed by overlapping potato slices.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Sprinkle cheeses on top and pour broth around the edges.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
