  • ½ cup honey
  • 23 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add shrimp and toss to coat.
  2. Set up three bowls: one with buttermilk, one with flour, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Dip each shrimp in flour, then buttermilk, and finally coat with panko.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry shrimp until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side).
  5. In a saucepan over low heat, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, red pepper flakes (optional), and apple cider vinegar until melted.
  6. Drain fried shrimp on paper towels and drizzle with hot honey glaze before serving.
