  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 container whipped topping (8 ounces)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla; beat until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, mix chocolate cake mix, oil, and water until well combined.
  4. Pour half of the chocolate batter into the prepared dish; layer with ricotta mixture, then top with remaining chocolate batter.
  5. Bake for about 70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While baking, whisk instant chocolate pudding with cold milk until thickened.
  7. Allow the cake to cool before topping it with the pudding mixture and refrigerating for best results.
