  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup (113 g) white cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • ¼ cup (25 g) parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 package (12-count) King's Hawaiian Rolls
  • 1 pound turkey breast (leftover or thickly sliced deli turkey)
  • 2 medium tomatoes (sliced)
  • 810 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter over medium heat. Whisk in 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour until combined.
  3. Gradually add 1 cup of whole milk while whisking; stir in ¼ teaspoon kosher salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg.
  4. Once thickened, remove from heat and mix in 1 cup of white cheddar cheese and ¼ cup of parmesan cheese until melted.
  5. Slice the King's Hawaiian Rolls horizontally; layer turkey, tomatoes, and bacon in a baking dish.
  6. Pour cheese sauce over the layers; brush top with melted butter mixed with garlic salt and parsley.
