Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked jasmine rice
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • Optional garnishes: scallions, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to package directions.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, ginger, and garlic until well mixed.
  4. Return to medium heat and add the chopped bell pepper; cook until tender-crisp.
  5. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with scallions and sesame seeds.
