Ingredients

  • 16 string cheese (cut in half crosswise)
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Set up three bowls: one with flour, another with mixed breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper, and the last with beaten eggs and milk.
  2. Bread each cheese stick by coating it first in flour, then dipping it into the egg mixture, followed by breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg dip and breadcrumb coating.
  3. Place the breaded sticks on parchment paper and freeze for at least 2 hours.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F.
  5. Fry frozen mozzarella sticks for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve hot with marinara sauce.
