  • 2 cups tortellini (refrigerated or frozen)

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • 1 pinch cayenne (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • Salt/ to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook the ground sausage and diced onions until browned. Drain excess grease and add minced garlic; sauté for an additional minute.
  2. Stir in flour and spices; cook for 1–2 minutes to enhance flavor.
  3. Gradually pour in chicken broth while scraping the bottom of the pot, then stir in heavy cream. Bring to a boil before reducing to a simmer.
  4. Add chopped kale and tortellini; let simmer for about 3–5 minutes until heated through.
  5. Adjust seasonings as needed before serving hot.
