Ingredients
- 1/4 oz active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 8 oz full-fat sour cream
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 – 3½ cups bread flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- Purple, green, and gold sprinkles
Instructions
- Activate yeast by mixing with warm water and sugar; let it foam for 5 minutes.
- Warm sour cream, butter, and sugar until melted; cool to about 100°F.
- In a stand mixer, combine the cooled sour cream mixture, activated yeast, egg, and half of the flour; mix lightly.
- Mix in remaining flour until a soft dough forms; knead for about 10 minutes.
- Place dough in a greased bowl; cover and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Roll out dough into rectangles, spread with butter, sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture, roll tightly.
- Shape into a ring on parchment paper; cover and let rise again (20-30 minutes).
- Bake at 350°F for 25–35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before glazing and decorating with sprinkles.
