  • ½ tsp vanilla bean paste
  • For the buttercream: 200 g butter, cool room temperature
  • 330 g powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • 1 tbsp whole milk, room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time until combined.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients alternately with sour cream, oil, and vanilla until just combined.
  5. Fold in batter gently using a spatula. Divide evenly into cupcake liners.
  6. Bake for 20–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
  7. For the buttercream, beat room-temperature butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla paste until fluffy.
