  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 1 Tablespoon peanut oil
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 12 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • Salt/White Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Gather and prep all ingredients: wash broccoli, dice onion and bell pepper, mince garlic.
  2. Heat peanut oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper; sauté until softened (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Mix cornstarch with cold water; combine with beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl.
  5. Pour sauce over beef mixture; cook for about 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Stir in broccoli; cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until bright green.
  7. Serve hot over cooked rice.
